Mehdi Mouhib, professionally known as L'Morphine, and formerly as M-Psy, stands as one of the most influential and lyrically profound figures in Moroccan Rap. Born in Salé in 1984, L'Morphine has carved a distinctive niche through his sophisticated literary techniques and deeply analytical approach to songwriting, earning him the moniker 'King of Metaphors'. Mouhib's artistic journey commenced in 1998 under the alias M-Psy, initially treating rap as a personal hobby. By 2004, he began contemplating broader public engagement, gradually introducing his work to a growing audience. In 2003, he relocated to Marrakech, having previously resided in various Moroccan cities including Casablanca, Midelt, and Meknes, and currently makes his home in Marrakech alongside fellow rapper Nessyou. His early career saw him join the Salé-based rap collective Piranha-Labo in 2006, a period that yielded the collaborative project 'Maxi Mighnatiss'.
